Biosuccinium®, Produced Since 2012 at Reverdia’s Commercial 10kt Plant in Cassano Spinola, Italy, is Sold Globally
Growing Our Leadership Position in the Bio-succinic Market
In 2008, Reverdia, operating under a joint development agreement with Royal DSM and Roquette Frères, began the production in succinic acid – a chemical building block used in the manufacture of polymers, resins, food and pharmaceuticals among other products – for the first time using biological means.
Reverdia validated their proprietary technology to produce succinic acid from starch at their demo plant which began operations in 2010 and ran successfully for two years.
In December 2012, Reverdia began operations in Cassano Spinola, Italy, at a 10 kt commercial-scale plant producing Biosuccinium® sustainable succinic acid. As the plant was built on the Roquette-Cassano site near Port of Genoa, Reverdia has full integration benefits of specialized work-force, feedstocks and utilities, optimizing the carbon footprint during production.
Our Growth Strategy
As the market develops, Reverdia is preparing for a next phase with further expansion of its production and business opportunities towards a truly global leadership position in succinic acid.
Reverdia works with brand owners and manufacturers on application co-development for sustainable products.
Licensing Biosuccinium™ offers a clear advantage for companies to integrate bio-succinic acid production into their business, enabling competitive bio-based materials. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
