Plasticizers

Plasticizers improve the plasticity or flexibility of the material to which it is added. However, not all plasticizers are equal.

Concerns over the impact of plasticizers leaching from poly vinyl chloride (PVC) have resulted in regulations banning the use of certain plasticizers in children’s articles and toys. This has led the use of phthalate-free plasticizers in these product types.

While the largest market opportunity for the use of Biosuccinium™ is to make plasticizers for the production of PVC, it can also be used to meet the growing demand for plasticizers for bio-based plastics.

Biosuccinium™ not only increases the bio-based content of plasticizers, but also helps improve the carbon footprint, creating a more sustainable plasticizer.
